On March 11th, our Lego Robotics team competed in the WSU Lego Mindstorm competition. After the competition, the robotics teams were able to select their own projects and choose what project to work on. Currently, a part of the robotics elective group is working on a spinner factory they started in late March. They had 439 step instructions to guide them in the production of the factory, as well as a program that came with the instructions. The spinner factory is supposed to make a spinner out of Lego parts available to the robotics group. Last we heard from them, they were working out the bugs for the factory.

Thursday, May 18th, the third graders had a fun presentation on what they have learned in history class this year. We talked to JoAnn and she said, “We picked an event that we talked about this year in history class. Then we chose which one we wanted to do. Someone else who wants to do the same thing is our partner. Then we can do a trifold, skit, or a presentation. We can also serve food if we want to.” It was very well done, and many people came to learn about the history of our country. They did a great job with their presentations.
The school year is coming to an end, so we asked students from each grade what their favorite moment was from the year. Take a look at some of the top highlights this year:
-gluing paper and playing with the dollhouse- Rylei

My sister is always stealing my stuff. What should I do?
From, My Annoying Sister
Dear My Annoying Sister,
Tell her to please stop stealing your stuff. If she doesn’t stop, tell your parents. They will help.
Yell at her and steal her stuff. If that doesn’t stop her, lock yourself in your room.
I’m not that athletic, so everyone during gym makes fun of me. What should I do?
From, Jim Shorts
Dear Jim Shorts,
Tell an adult about it.
At your service, Tweedledee
Make fun of them back.
My friend wants me to tell her my answers. I don’t know what to do. I can’t hurt her feelings; she is my best friend. Please help me do the right thing.
From, Help Me
Dear Help Me,
Tell her cheating won’t help her, ever. Cheating is wrong.
Give her the wrong answers. Then she won’t ever copy from you again.
Dear Tweedle twins,
I can never remember anyone’s name. What should I do?
From, Name Forgetter
Try to remember them by a certain characteristic, or call them by a nickname.
Stick a notecard to their head with their name on it. Then you won’t have to remember their names.
Dear Tweedledee and Tweedledumb,
I can’t play any sports because my grades are low. I can’t get them back up. Please tell me what to do.
From, Help Me
Dear Help Me,
Ask your parents if you could go to a tutor.
Yours truly, Tweedledee
Be a rebel like me and still play sports.
I need new clothes, but my parents won’t take me to buy new ones.
It doesn’t matter on the outside, it matters what is on the inside. If you really need new clothes, maybe you should save up money. Remember, you can always babysit or start a business.
Steal your siblings clothes. Or, run away to the mall.
Verse – “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”
Message – We should always praise the Lord in every circumstance. He gives us all we need to live here on the beautiful earth that he created. Even though sometimes bad things happen, we still need to praise the Lord because he is beautiful. He lives in heaven, and we will see him there when we die. He is amazing, and we need to praise him forever because he loves and cares for us. As we go into summer and the next school year, we need to continue to praise and worship God in church and Sunday School.
Prayer – Dear Lord, thank you for this beautiful day. Please help us to praise your name throughout our whole lives. Thank you for giving us eternal life with you forever. Give us strength to tell the devil no and always come back to you. Keep us in your word and in your house. We love you precious beautiful Father. Amen
The Sports Banquet was held on May 9th. Holy Cross athletes, coaches, and guests attended the banquet. There was an excellent selection of food items and drinks. The banquet was held to celebrate the success of Holy Cross athletes. There was a slideshow that displayed the school athletes as they played their games. After that, each team was individually congratulated for their effort and Christian spirit in their games. Anna and Abby were given the Les Longhouser award for most Christian spirit/Athletic abilities. The coaches were also thanked for taking the time and energy to train our teams.
